World’s largest wind energy gathering combines WindEnergy Hamburg’s expo & WindEurope’s conference
The Global Wind Summit 2018 was a huge success: 35,000 attendees from over 100 countries gathered at the Hamburg Messe und Congress for this truly global event. A joint collaboration between WindEnergy Hamburg and WindEurope, this biennial gathering is firmly established as the world’s leading wind energy event.
The Global Wind Summit 2018 consisted of two leading events:
The WindEnergy Hamburg expo gathered 1,482 exhibitors from 40 different countries in nine fully-booked exhibition halls. The share of international exhibitors grew to 50%. All the key players were there to represent both the onshore and offshore wind industry, including 16 wind turbine manufacturers from Europe, the Americas, and Asia. 35,000 trade visitors gathered at the expo to accelerate global growth for wind energy.

The WindEurope 2018 Conference ran in parallel to the expo, and gathered over 2,000 delegates for more than 60 conference sessions. The conference theme was ‘Breaking New Ground’, and each day of the conference gathered leaders from the worlds of industry, policy, technology and finance to address this theme from a different angle, including: electrification; digitalisation; wind in a merchant environment; and new markets.
